making sounds
you make the sound(s) but you don’t make the sound(s)
october 2019
an hour long interactive installation/performance of Aaron Moorehouse’s text score. performed in a hotel room as part of PAB’s open festival
the performance was interactive and featured other text scores by myself, aaron and stockhausen. these text scores helped me understand my relationship with sound. some of these can be found in the image gallery. i wanted aaron to have some presence during the performance too, and by bringing his texts he would be there for me.
below is a video of some moments during the two performances of this piece.
in early 2019 i was commissioned to perform all of the text scores as part of aaron moorehouse’s micro/verse collection. one of these text scores is the title of this piece. i performed this score originally as a piece in front of an audience in york.
(as seen here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g5B1uhcIGhY).
aaron’s collection of pieces has dramatically explored my relationship with sound, my relationship with myself as a performer and my relationships with composers directions and audience influences.
